Sarah W

Biography

Life: It’s a wondrous mix of soaring highs, gut-wrenching lows, and all those moments in-between. A glance, a sunset shared, stories, travelling, hopes, sorrow, loss, music, work, hugs, tears, touch, laughter, holding hands, connection: the everyday where falling in love begins, where life is lived and where without realising, memories that will last forever are created.

Whatever you’re celebrating – tying the knot, a new life, or marking a life lived, my aim is to help you to capture those moments; to create a ceremony that is inclusive, and unique. With you, your beliefs, values and traditions at the heart. Whether you’ve got loads of ideas or you’re struggling to figure it out, we’ll come up with something that suits you, together.

A bit about me…
Loves: dogs, daydreams, crisp autumn days, punk rock, gigs, adventures, coffee. And dinosaurs.

I have worked for many years supporting people experiencing difficulties and trauma. This has enhanced my listening skills, empathy and understanding, but also deepened my belief in the fundamental importance of love, and living life your way. The first humanist funeral I attended had such an impact on me that I was motivated to use and develop my skills in a new way – as a celebrant.

I believe passionately in equality, tolerance and inclusivity Which is why I feel at home and lucky to be with Celebrate People, a group whose whole ethos is based on this.

It’s a pleasure to be here for you.

“Sarah was absolutely fantastic when she conducted our daughter’s naming day. She went out of her way to ensure the service was reflective of our family, sought to understand exactly what we wanted the day to be about, and really endeavoured to make sure that it was exceptionally personal and special. Would highly recommend Sarah as a humanist who really encompasses the compassion and love which is at the core of humanist celebrations, she was outstanding.”

“Sarah was my one and only option to conduct our wedding ceremony – I knew she would be perfect and wanted nobody else. Despite the uncertainty around the dates, Sarah was patient and thoroughly supportive throughout.  She spent so much time understanding the feel we had envisioned for our day and what it meant to both of us and our family.

She was a beautiful soul on the day; so  warm and friendly to all the guests as well and did an outstanding job.

I only wish I could’ve given her a huge hug.

A wedding for us not other

October 22, 2024

We first met Sarah by chance at a wedding fair, we had spoke to other celebrants but just didn’t click. Sarah was AMAZING!!!

As soon as we left her table we knew we had found the perfect person to fit in with our day. Sarah was amazing at guiding us through the whole process and out of everyone we dealt with throughout the experience she was the best. We spoke about having a chilled out day with our daughter and nieces involved and she was great at suggesting thing. We sealed our words in stone also which made it more personal and a bit different.

Her words were perfect on the day and was lovely to hear our live put into words like that. Honestly I can’t recommend her enough she helped make our day special and we will always be grateful.

It was just perfection xx

The perfect wedding celebration!

Sarah was always our number 1 choice as celebrant for our non-legal ceremony. We have been to a few occasions where she conducted a lovely ceremony, and she is part of the Scottish side of the family, so it was a no-brainer for us! Professional and efficient from the get-go, she also put us at ease, was patient and really helpful in navigating the trickier parts of the ceremony, advising on words and flow. When I decided to play a secret recording of a song, she even helped to make sure it was the perfect surprise for the groom! I would not hesitate in recommending Sarah if you are looking for a tailor-made, personal and beautiful wedding ceremony. We had the best day and Sarah was a huge part of that. Can’t thank you enough!

As soon as we met Sarah we knew we wanted her to be our celebrant. She helped us navigate the practicalities and the personal touches to make our wedding ceremony everything we wanted, and our friends and family all commented on what a lovely ceremony it was.

Thank you so much Sarah!

Beautiful Wedding

Sarah helped us every step of our wedding journey, from the initial stages of starting to think about what we would like to include as part of our ceremony, right through to keeping us calm and collected on the big day.

She helped tailor our ceremony around the importance of family and friends, which was a meaningful aspect we wanted to highlight throughout the day while keeping it relaxed and informal.

As such an important part of our day, we can’t thank you enough, and we appreciate all you did for us.
