Hi, my name is Drew and I’ve enjoyed so many adventures marrying couples across Scotland for over a decade now. From weddings on small boats off the coast of wee islands, to the rocky high ground of the big mountains, and the wave-washed beaches and forested riverbanks of this wonderful landscape. If you are hoping to have a completely bespoke ceremony, written from scratch to reflect your personalities and celebrate your relationship, especially if you’re considering options for marrying in nature or some other adventurous way, I have the experience, enthusiasm and creativity that you need.
I am based towards the west coast, near Glasgow, and happy to travel anywhere on the mainland and throughout the islands. I am passionate about going several extra miles for couples to create unique ceremonies rather than trying to fit them into a template. Which means I tend to take a lower number of bookings per year to enable a higher level of planning, thought and creativity for each. As such, it is a good idea to contact me well in advance but if your date is fast-approaching, and you have an out-of-the-ordinary plan in mind, please do talk to me about it. If I can move my schedule around to help, I would be delighted to do so.
Previously, a climbing instructor and open water lifeguard, alongside a career in psychological therapies, including working with NASA, and, more recently, spiritual care in the NHS, I am open to considering any and all ideas for ceremonies. Because it’s about celebrating who you are and what really matters most to you. That commitment to you is grounded in a passion to continually challenge myself as a Celebrant, to grow through trying new things, including languages. I am not yet fluent in languages other than English (I am working on that!) but very willing to incorporate sections in the ceremony in other languages that I can apply myself to learning and enabling to happen.
If I were to pick three things to describe myself as a Celebrant, I think they might be: Person-centred, warm-hearted and nature-loving.
