Hello! I’m Sarah (she/her). My style is light-hearted, relaxed, warm and sincere, with gravitas at the right moments. I’m authorised to conduct legal marriage and civil partnership in Scotland. I also conduct funerals, naming /renaming /welcoming ceremonies, non-legal wedding celebrations, vow renewals and more.

I will let you into a wee secret, the best and most memorable ceremonies are so because of the folks at the centre. That is to say, it’s not actually about me! If I’ve done my job well (I’m told I do!) then what will be remembered will be your stories and how your ceremony made you feel.

I am here to listen to you and support you, giving you guidance and ideas when you need them and linking with key folks to help your ceremony run smoothly. I’ll be a steady, safe pair of hands throughout.

It’s the connection with others that I value the most.  Learning about who you are and what is important to you is at the core everything I do. There is nothing as satisfying or that fills my heart more than to help to bring your words, values and vision together; for you to feel seen, heard and celebrated for exactly who you are. 

A wee bit more about me

I’ve worked for many years in listening and supportive roles, including with children, young people and adults, with a variety of life experiences. This has taught me so much and shaped how I want to be in the world. The skills and qualities I’ve gained – listening (beyond simply your words), empathy, warmth and genuine interest in others – align well with celebrancy too!

I LOVE dogs, crisp autumn days, punk rock, forests, adventures, gigs, beaches, coffee, a sprinkle of whimsy…and dinosaurs.

OUR PERFECT WEDDING CEREMONY

We got to know Sarah through a friend’s recommendation and after having met her we were sure we had found the right person to conduct our wedding ceremony.

Sarah guided us every step of the way and explained all our options resulting in a ceremony that fully reflected us and our life. She gave helpful pointers and timely reminders in the run up to the wedding.

On the day itself we were up against a red weather warning which meant having to change our timings to keep everyone safe. Sarah was in constant communication with us, helping us to find a solution which meant we could go ahead. And the ceremony itself was just beautiful and the whole day all the more memorable for it.

A WEDDING FOR US NOT OTHER

We first met Sarah by chance at a wedding fair, we had spoke to other celebrants but just didn’t click. Sarah was AMAZING!!!

As soon as we left her table we knew we had found the perfect person to fit in with our day. Sarah was amazing at guiding us through the whole process and out of everyone we dealt with throughout the experience she was the best. We spoke about having a chilled out day with our daughter and nieces involved and she was great at suggesting thing. We sealed our words in stone also which made it more personal and a bit different.

Her words were perfect on the day and was lovely to hear our live put into words like that. Honestly I can’t recommend her enough she helped make our day special and we will always be grateful.

THE PERFECT WEDDING CELEBRATION!

Sarah was always our number 1 choice as celebrant for our non-legal ceremony. We have been to a few occasions where she conducted a lovely ceremony, and she is part of the Scottish side of the family, so it was a no-brainer for us!

Professional and efficient from the get-go, she also put us at ease, was patient and really helpful in navigating the trickier parts of the ceremony, advising on words and flow. When I decided to play a secret recording of a song, she even helped to make sure it was the perfect surprise for the groom!

I would not hesitate in recommending Sarah if you are looking for a tailor-made, personal and beautiful wedding ceremony. We had the best day and Sarah was a huge part of that. Can’t thank you enough!
