Lyeona Anderton
Biography
Being a celebrant with Celebrate People means I can be there for people when it matters so much to have someone to offer understanding and empathy and the skills to celebrate their life with you. I am based in the beautiful Scottish Borders.
For me this work is all about real people and getting the true essence and character of your loved one and celebrate and remember their life in the way that means most to you. I have empathy, kindness and love at the core of my beliefs and respect people’s beliefs and faiths.
My husband Ian and I have a small cleaning business that we started in 2004. Through that we meet so many people and support people when they need us. I have three children, Rachael who is 14 and my twins of 13 Sarah and Christopher.
I am a qualified rugby coach and referee and have been volunteer coach to Primary 4 kids at Gala Mini Maroons for over 5 years.
I feel very privileged to be part of the Celebrate People family and want to be there for you and share what is important to all of us – my celebrant skills, kindness, empathy, equality and compassion.

Caring and Considerate Service
Lyeona was the celebrant at my uncle’s cremation and she was the perfect choice for us. As a family it’s hard to know where to start when talking about a loved ones life but Lyeona’s caring and encouraging approach helped us uncover all the best stories we wanted to tell. She’s a natural listener and facilitator.
The service was delivered with exactly the right balance of reflection on the good times without ignoring the sadness we all felt.
We left feeling that the service was as lovely as it could have been given the circumstances.
Thank you again Lyeona.
Celebration of Life Service 18/08/23
Lyeona very kindly responded to a request for her service at short notice. Lyeona was efficient and attentive throughout and delivered a tribute to our father just how we envisaged. Thanks once again Lyeona.
Margaret Waugh -burial
Lyeona came into our lives over a year ago, helping mum with a bit cleaning & other bits & bobs. Mum looked forward to seeing Lyeona each week & she became very fond of Lyeona.
Mum passed very suddenly & it then unfolded that mum had asked Lyeona to carry out her service, the comfort that brought to us as a family was immense. Lyeona met with my brother & I to go over mum’s service & Lyeona was also able to tell us the stories mum had shared with her.
It was a beautiful, beautiful service & we could not have asked for better or a more fitting send of for our beautiful mum.
Lyeona has certainly been a blessing in our lives.
Thank you Lyeona
Ferguson - Cremation
Lyeona was caring and professional from our first meeting. She put us at ease straight away and our first chat about Dad went really well. Her first draft was emailed a few days later and with a few adjustments it was complete.
On the day of the cremation she delivered a tribute to Dad that was warm and loving, we really couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Thanks again Lyeona
Jean Palmer - Cremation
Lyeona was simply superb. From the moment we met Lyeona, to the actual crematorium service, I have nothing but praise.
Lyeona came to our house approximately 10 days before the service to gather information on mum. Within 24 hours we had an initial draft. We went through a number of changes prior to the service and on each occasion we had the re-draft the next day to review, until we had a script we were all comfortable with. Lyeona helped us with suggestions for content, which was really appreciated. On the day itself, Lyeona was so professional and caring in everything she did and really helped us get through what was a difficult day.
We cannot thank Lyeona enough.
