Hannah Mitchell
Biography
As well as being a celebrant, I run an education programme designed to help young people make the transition from school to adulthood. I love working with people and helping them to create a life of their choosing. I lived in France for 10 years and then Australia for a few years, but my home is now in the heart of the Highlands.
I love connecting with and learning about people, their history, their culture, their language, and everything that has shaped who they are.
I recently had the privilege of performing a wedding ceremony in France, and this is what led me to becoming a marriage celebrant. There is nothing more special and powerful than celebrating a couple’s love for each another with words spoken from the heart.
It is an honour to deliver ceremonies, funerals and weddings, that unite people with great love, warmth and emotion. I can conduct ceremonies in English and French.

Wonderful celebrant for our bilingual ceremony and wedding!
We were so lucky to meet and work with Hannah for our non-legal ceremony in Scotland.
For us it was really important that we could include both our families and have the ceremony in both English and French, Hannah being fluent in French she was the “perle rare” and a perfect match!
From the process of creating the ceremony remotely to meeting her on the day and having our ceremony, everything went very smoothly.
On the day, Hannah really went the extra mile for us and had previously even accepted to translate the speeches, make a live rendition and stay during our reception to help with any language barrier.
We couldn’t have wished for a better experience. Hannah is very kind, empathetic and listening.

Hannah conducted our non-legal wedding ceremony in the South of France and it was a truly wonderful experience.
Hannah is extremely thoughtful and personable, and took the time to really understand how my husband and I wanted the ceremony to flow. We had multiple meetings and video calls with Hannah, during which she offered many useful ideas for our ceremony texts and readings.
During the wedding day, Hannah’s warm and empathetic speaking style was exactly what we wanted and very well received by our wedding guests.
As our wedding took place in Provence, it was a real plus that Hannah speaks fluent French. This allowed her to liaise with our local wedding planner without any language barrier.
We would totally recommend any engaged couple to work with Hannah for their wedding ceremony!
